Paula Radcliffe won her third New York Marathon on Sunday. The defending champion held off the challenge of veteran Ludmila Petrova and in the end won comfortably. Kara Goucher made a U.S. record setting debut to finish 3rd.

The run backs up the impressive form Paula showed the previous week in the Great South Run. She won in 51min 11sec, a new British record time beating the previous 10 mile best by 30 seconds.
