15-03-2009 VRSA Sports Complex A reminder that the track at VRSA Sports Complex is not available 5th - 12th April as a result of the Mundialito football tournament. The track will also be unavailable on the 3rd & 4th as the complex makes preparations for the tournament. The closing ceremony is actually on the evening of Saturday 11th April therefore the track should be available on Sunday 12th. 03-11-2008 New York Marathon Congratulations to Paula Radcliffe Paula Radcliffe won her third New York Marathon on Sunday. The defending champion held off the challenge of veteran Ludmila Petrova and in the end won comfortably. Kara Goucher made a U.S. record setting debut to finish 3rd. The run backs up the impressive form Paula showed the previous week in the Great South Run. She won in 51min 11sec, a new British record time beating the previous 10 mile best by 30 seconds. ... |

08-10-2008 Great North Run Congratulations to athletes and fun runners who competed in the Great North Run at the weekend. Over 52,000 people enjoyed glorious sunshine as they made their way around the 13.1 mile course. Gete Wami won the women's race in 1hr 8mins 51secs. Jo Pavey was a gallant 3rd in 1:08:53. Tsegay Kebede won the men's race in 59mins 45secs to make it an Ethiopian double. Good luck to everyone who is taking part in the Great South Run later this month. ... |

Great Britain secured their fifth men's title on the second day of the last ever SPAR European Cup in Annecy. They finished with 112 points , 14 ahead of second-placed Poland. Triple jumper Phillips Idowu was elected the Athlete of the Cup, having helped Britain to the biggest winning margin in the men's Cup for nine years. 20-03-2008 Raising Money for Vickys Water Project On Sunday 30th September 2007 190 runners took part in the Great North Run raising money for Vickys Water Project.
